I've "seen" you around at other sites. I think you're doing a great job here. Very Happy

I've been a skeptic from the "beginning" since I believe being skeptical is fundamental to science. For me, the null hypothesis has not been falsified by the AGW crowd. (That climate change is natural and the current changes are part of the natural variation.) They have the burden of proof and have not met that burden.

I followed the arguments for a long time (since about 1998), but didn't get too active until the science morphed badly into sensationalist hype and politics. When it did that, the potential impact on my life went up and my skeptic activism ramped up accordingly.

The dead giveaways for the weakness of the AGW position in most blog arguments are heavy realiance on ad hominem, name calling, sidestepping, argument from authority and general condescending/dismissive tone.

The dead giveaways for the weakness of the AGW position in science are the refusal to share methodologies, data and computer code.

All that said, I do believe we are capable of "fouling our nest", but the planet will deal with us just fine. The planet has been here over 4 billion years...we've been "civilized" (and that is questionable) for less than 10,000 years. Heck, about 500 years ago, the sun revolved around the earth...that was the scientific consensus of the best minds.

I think George Carlin had it right when he decried the arrogance of people who want to save the planet. "The planet is fine! The people are messed up!" (paraphrased for cleanliness)

Great to hear from you, I totally agree.

Tonight I think I've found a cracker. I think the CO2 data as used by Mauna Loa (atmosphere levels plus a strange representation of the emissions curve) and the CDIAC emissions graphs, have got some hidden giveaways which undoes neatly, right at the centre, the whole AGW evidence. Seems very obvious when spelled out.

But I might have missed something.

Anyway, welcome here.
