Who is fighting dirty?

This is a difficult but IMHO unfortunately necessary page at this point. Part of the skeptics' battle is to show that, over and over again, the very corruptions the AGW accuse skeptics of, they are themselves guilty of, and in rather greater measure.

This is an ancient ploy - to point away from oneself, accusing someone, basically innocent, of one's own cardinal sins and corruptions. History tells this story many times and it seems to be part of human nature we need to recognize - but not encourage. I want to keep this side of Reclaiming Climate Science as short as we can manage - erasing material when better material comes, and if we reach the happy point where we can release past foibles...

Monckton Debates Global Warming With DeSmog's Littlemore

By Noel Sheppard, NewsBusters, 17 August 2008

A debate between one of the world's foremost climate realists and one of the world's foremost climate alarmists took place [in Aug 2008]. In the left corner was Richard Littlemore of DeSmogBlog. In the right corner was Christopher Monckton, chief advisor to the Science and Public Policy Institute. Audio available here.

So...who won? Littlemore seems to think it's Monckton. Also, it appears Monckton was right -- and Littlemore wrong! -- about DeSmog's benefactor John Lefebvre having been charged with money laundering.

Another Debate between John Christy (skeptic) and William Schlesinger (alarmist)

Al Gore spoke in Belgium in 2008. Tickets cost 400 euros each.

From Global Warming and Nature's Thermostat, by Roy W. Spencer, Ph.D.:

Al Gore likes to say that mankind puts 70 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every day. What he probably doesn't know is that mother nature puts 24,000 times that amount of our main greenhouse gas -- water vapor -- into the atmosphere every day, and removes about the same amount every day. While this does not 'prove' that global warming is not manmade, it shows that weather systems have by far the greatest control over the Earth's greenhouse effect, which is dominated by water vapor and clouds.
